sacred summits returns after a two-year hiatus with an album of interpretations of the music of eric satie by acclaimed composer morgan fisher. active for over 50 years morgans career has moved from 60s number one hit wonders love affair, to 70s rocknroll keyboardist in mott the hoople, before finally on to 80s ambient, improvisation and soundtracks, working with the likes of yoko ono, haroumi hosono and dip in the pool. based in japan since the mid-80s, fishers long-standing admiration for erik satie (1866- 1925) led to these inside satie recordings. satie’s unique work as a precursor to artistic movements such as minimalism, surrealism and repetitive music are acknowledged but for long periods he was not given the accolades his music warranted. a strange, eccentric, surreal man, he was never as acclaimed as the established masters, but influenced not only the likes of debussy but also many of the dada artists. on this album morgan played his music freely after just a brief look at the scores. recorded in just three days, it features piano, melodica, synthesisers, and morgans favoured tape delay system. inside satie is one of the first albums i recorded in japan shortly after moving here in 1985. in three days i improvised on several of my favourite satie themes. mostly i played piano as well as the rich, analog-sounding yamaha gs-1 (precursor of the dx-7), and sometimes used long tape delays to build layers of sound. all the pieces were recorded in single takes no overdubs (no time!).

this is the new release by berlin based techno duo i/y. the music is part of an interdisciplinary project between the international artist collective exc and i/y which included an exhibition in a downstairs parking lot, the publication of the artistbook -pxrkxnglxt 2- together with the novel -raum in einem raum- by exc-co-founder eric keil and a short unmoved silent film for which i/y did the soundtrack. this soundtrack now comes as an exclusive vinyl release along with an inlay artist edition, showing the dark scenery where the- film- takes action... the artist book and the novel are published on rhein verlag and will also be distributed as a special edition together with the record at papierundgelb.de.

it all starts off with luna (traum model), a track that takes the listener to the part of the mind reserved only for very late nights and early mornings where the lines between the real and unreal become blurred.
next up is lotte (kampf modell) an aggressive electro number that turns the dance floor into a battlefield from a war where humans finally overtake the machines.

recently, superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in south africa. he bought a custom made safari hat at his favorite milliner in cologne (ju&#776,,,rgen eifler) and set off with big eyes and a pair of binoculars. it was wild and wonderful and he saw many exotic (and big!) animals, even a leopard in a tree that told him the secret of the universe. he forgot what the leopard said because his mind was still playing and replaying the sound of what he heard on the first night of his arrival – the hypnotic and moving sound of the voices of africa, the voices of the wonderful tanda tula staff choir. there, the choir members work during the day at the camp and at night entertain the guests with their captivating voices and energetic dancing. so impressed was he with their songs and beautiful shangaan language that he decided to record a cd for them to sell in the shop at their camp and now this precious recording is also available through hippie dance / bush recordings on vinyl and cd for you in whatever wherever camp you are. the lp of the tanda tula choir comes with a very pretty poster.

hanna is the soundtrack album to the 2011 british-german thriller film of the same name, directed by joe wright. the film stars saoirse ronan as the title character, a girl raised in the wilderness of northern finland by her father, an ex-cia operative (eric bana), who trains her as an assassin. cate blanchett is a senior cia agent who tries to track down and eliminate the girl and her father.
the original score was composed by the british pioneers of big beat the chemical brothers, who had 6 number 1 albums and 13 top 20 singles in the uk. nme ranked the album at number 54 in their list of the -61 of the greatest film soundtracks-.
the soundtrack of hanna was nominated for multiple awards and eventually won an alliance of women film journalists award in the category -best film music or score- and a los angeles film critics association award for -best music-.

the green returns with their first full-length release since 2013’s award-winning hawai’i 13. that record debuted at #1 on the billboard reggae chart and cracked the top 100, as well, before going on to win an unprecedented three na hoku hanohano awards in the band’s native hawaii. after years of touring to support that release, the band focused on making their next record with some longtime musical partners, including producers leslie ludiazo (j boog, hot rain) and christian mochizuki (graves). the band also solicited songwriter/producer brian fennell (ryan tedder, one republic, the fray, third eye blind) to help explore some new elements in their sound. the new release has an amazing mix of pop-influenced lovers rock along with the green’s patented island reggae. guests include jamaican dancehall superstar busy signal, grammy-nominees j boog and rebelution’s eric rachmany, as well as island music veterans fiji and the mana’o company.
